Managing Payment Types

This guide explains how to manage payment types in Funderr.

1. Understanding Payment Types

Payment types define the different methods by which clients can make loan repayments or savings deposits (e.g., cash, check, mobile money, bank transfer).

Configuring payment types allows you to track how clients are making payments and reconcile your accounts.

2. Accessing the Payment Types Screen

To access the Payment Types screen:

  • 2.1 Select "Admin" from the main menu.

  • 2.2 Click on "Organization."

  • 2.3 Click on "Payment Type."

3. Viewing the List of Payment Types

The Payment Types screen displays a list of all configured payment types.

  • Name: The name of the payment type (e.g., "Cash", "Mobile Money").

  • Description: A description of the payment type.

  • Code: Code

  • System Defined: system defined

  • Cash Payment: Cash payment

  • Position: position

  • actions Edit and Delete

4. Creating a New Payment Type

To create a new payment type:

  • 4.1 Click the "+ Create Payment Type" button.

  • 4.2 Fill in the "Create Payment Type" form.

  • 4.3 The fields on the form are:

    • Payment Type: Enter the name of the new payment type.

    • Description: Enter a description of the payment type.

    • Is Cash Payment? set the boolean parameter

    • Position: the position

  • 4.4 Click the "Submit" button to save the new payment type.
